Then this computer is not for you.

But that's my problem with it. I WANT IT. I just don't want it at $3k.

I'd love to have it and let my whole family use it and do some really cool stuff, just wish they'd have a cheaper version for the family and not just the trendy graphic hipster who likes to draw for fun or for their job.

They are new to creating their own products, and this is the first instance of this one. Give it time.

Obviously some of the Surface specs are better because it's newer and the screen is thinner, but you can still get a Damn good machine for $1K cheaper by buying the Dell

So you can get a lower spec'd, lower quality, and older AIO for cheaper than this Surface AIO!?!

True, what's interesting will be Apple's conference today. I think Apple is now the one "behind" as they no longer really innovate anything anymore. Compare it to what Microsoft displayed yesterday and clearly there's a paradigm shift, at least to me.

TLDR:
Microsoft = Innovative in 2015 + 2016 and beyond
Apple = Has their hay day passed?

That's what I've been thinking. MS changed their paradigm with the Surface. It took a couple of iterations before they nailed it, but they finally did with the SP3. Apple has nothing to compete with it. I was wondering how long it would take before the death of Jobs would tangibly affect what comes from Apple-maybe we're seeing that now. Still Apple can be pretty hushed about new innovations so they may surprise everyone next year but right now the innovation IMHO is coming mainly from Google & MS.

MS just needs to work on their Windows 10 implementation & execution.

3) This new iMac competition looks awesome but starting at 3k? Fook that.

This is about as much of an iMac competition as cell phone were in competition to the rotory phone - it's so far beyond the iMac at this point, it's not really fair to compare them

If you want true competition to the iMac, there are bunches of all-in-one Windows machines on the market that are much cheaper
