I have these speakers:

Bose Companion 5 Speakers

This computer:

1.6 GHz, 16 GB memory, 1 TB storage, etc.

I use this to connect all my peripherals:

USB C Hub Adapter, 5-in-1 USB C Adapter with 4K USB C to HDMI, Ethernet Port, 3 USB 3.0

When I attempt to play music through Bose speakers (connected to USB hub), I receive no sound.

As soon as I disconnect the Bose USB speakers from my USB hub, I can hear the sound, but only through my MacBook Air.

Where do you believe the incompatibility issue lies? Speakers or the USB Hub? Speakers previously worked fine using a Windows-based computer.

Is there a work-around solution that I am unaware of?

FWIW, I just checked System Preferences and I don't see my speakers listed or being identified:

Disregard. I'm an idiot. I had the wrong USB cable attached to my hub (printer) and not from my Bose speakers.

Took me overnight and a couple of hours this morning to finally figure this out.
