Mac HD Spontaneously Filling Up

The past few days, my the SSD on my MacBook Air has been spontaneously filling up all of the way prompting the "Startup Disk Is Full" message. I have 20 gb of space available normally. I run Omni Disk Sweeper and it goes back down to 20 gb free. The problem corrects itself, seemingly, but it renders my laptop useless in the meantime.
Any thoughts?
This help thread is pretty much what I am experiencing LINK

It just works.
