Just yesterday DIRECTV NOW sent out an email to subscribers with an updated bill that included a line for “True Cloud DVR.” AT&T later in the day sent a follow-up email apologizing for the mistake and letting subscribers know the DIRECTV NOW DVR is still in beta not ready for the public.
So a separate line for DVR = AT&T planning the end of that line to have a $ amount included.

storage space isn't free...hopefully it's only like $2 or something, but I bet it'll be 5 or 10. Once the price point comes out, then the pitchforks can come out.

I hate AT&T as much as the next guy (ok, I hate them more than almost every other guy), but they pretty much have to charge for DVR. Although the storage required is pretty negligible (if a million people record a show, they don't have to save a million copies, they just need 1 plus backups), I'm pretty sure content owners charge more if their content can be recorded/timeshifted.

It's not free, it's built into the price. You can't get Vue without the DVR service.

Unlimited, too.
Recordings still disappear after a month, right?

I'm guessing it'll be tiered and you'll at least get a little bit included.

Either way I've been fine without it from the beginning.

Yeah. So? What is so important that you need a recording of a show more than a month? It's great for sports events.

I’ve had DtvNow for almost 6 months and havnt missed not having a DVR, so much stuff is on demand anyways and you also have the option to watch some stuff within 3 days.
I really can’t complain. I have att cell service with then unlimited plan so I get DtvNow’s basic plan which includes ESPN, AMC, TNT, etc for $10/month and HBO for “free”, its comes with having the unlimited data plan. So yeah I can’t conplain at all to get 60 channels & hbo fir $10/mo
Dvr would be great but it won’t make me angry to live without one.

I've had it since it came out. Got grandfathered in on the biggest package for $35/month. Like you, I just switched to their unlimited plan, so I know only pay $10 for 120 channels plus HBO. I'd take the DVR if they offered it, but I haven't missed it at all. I'd rather have locals.
