We have not purchased a TV in 5 years and I know the technology has probably shifted. Have a budget of $600 or under, what specs, features, brands, etc should we look for?

It will be in a bedroom and we don’t play video games.

How much different is that TCL than the new one? It's like $400 cheaper.

Not sure.
Sometimes it’s as simple as a remote or an app.

Could be LED v. OLED also

I would get the top of the line TCL tv if going that route. It is really good. Check out facebook marketplace if you are going anything cheaper than that.

I just bought the 4 series 65" tcl this weekend at wal-mart. I was coming from a 6-7 year old 51" samsung plasma. The TCL is much better, especailly with the built in roku (I stream hulu live and prime only)

I'm sure the 5 and 6 series are better, but for the price, I doubt it can be beat.

I recently purchased the 65 inch 6 series. To my understanding one of the big things is that the older models are edge lit, while the 6 series has 120 mini panels that light up only when needed for color.

It’s blacks are extremely dark. Running directv now through it’s Roku system seems a little slow to load and such but overall can’t complain. The picture is gorgeous

just by this statement your word needs to be taken with a grain of salt. 65" OLEDs are in the 1700 entry level price range.

Poster- TCL's are good budget TVs. check slickdeals. and you will find you tv.

LINKthis is a better TV than the one he listed. It has HDR10 and Dolby Vision where the other just is HDR10. and is edge lit vs direct.

But as it is know the newer 6 series TCLs are way better than both. Im waiting on a deal for one of those.

wait for a sale. there has already been one on the 6 series, it was at best buy 10% off (65" for 872 shipped and 55" for 539).

follow slickdeals alerts. Dont follow slickdeals if you want to save money.

I mean who really needs a 12 dollar cold steel machete, no one but is is only 12 dollars!!!
