Laptop Mic Issue

Just bought a HP laptop about a month ago, nothing fancy, just something to work on at home. Everything has been fine with it until yesterday. While in a conference on Zoom, I had my headset on and could hear everyone fine. However, no one could hear me talk. Thought it was weird and nothing more at the time. Used the same headset later that night on my Xbox, worked perfectly fine.
This morning, on another call on Zoom (no headset this time), and the internal mic wouldn't record or pick up anything I would say.
I have tried everything I could do. Decently tech savvy but nothing amazing. Tried everything I could find on other forums, no luck. Figured I would try here.

Did you check settings/control panel and did headset/mic configuration settings and test? Set input devices based on headset?
