Had a $3200 Alienware m17x for 12 years but it died on me so went cheap and bought a $750 HP 17". Thing is a piece of shite after 2 years. I like this Lenovo but if anyone has recommendations I'm open to them. Last Lenovo was a T450 or something like that and loved it.

I'd just restore Windows to factory config first. RAM and SSDs don't get slower because they get older. I'm typing this on a 6 year old Lenovo IdeaPad with discrete graphics that can play SkyRim with no issues, that cost under $1k when I bought it.

I did the HP route once. The stuff I needed it for was basic and it still sucked. Never again. It flooded in 2016 and I didn't even put it on my property loss list.
