We have family coming over for the weekend with lots of kids. How fix my tv lineup? We have mostly blood, guts, and sex (though Zeto blocks our p0rn).

We have full control over tv lineup with jellyfin and dispatcharr. What kids channels do we need to add? More the merrier? Are there must-haves?

Edit: obv we know how to get rid of bad stuff, just wondering what channels we need for 6-10 yos.

Thank you. I think we can accommodate that. No wonder young people are dumb.

The pron can easily get added if y'all want those categories. Lol

I also started messing with dispatcharr today. Very neat and powerful software.

Ya dispatcharr has its shortcomings but updates frequently and every time I modify it, they come out with a better way a few days later.

I went through lots of apps but ended up back with dispatcharr+jellyfin. No previews but gives great classic cable lineup or similar to YouTube.tv.

We definitely take the p0rn. Anything to nudge the wife. I’ll play that shite all week if I think it’ll get me some more

There is a fair amount of highl quality stuff for kids on youtube but there is a hell of a lot of mind numbing crap, too.

So I started playing with Dispatcharr, but I wasn't convinced of the benefits other than having a single channel be the "front" for several back-up channels and being able to provide a single channel to multiple TVs while only using one IPTV stream. Is the primary benefit to you just being able to eliminate seeing channels?

We usually have the same channel on several TVs. So that’s the biggest advantage. Second biggest is being able to safely watch while traveling via jellyfin. Third is attaching the proxy to gluetun to that we can keep just one VPN connection to serve several devices.

Also has tools to export VOD to jelkyfin so it can organize, download all cover art and info, gather critic and user ratings, make everything easily searchable and offer recommendations.

I forgot about Gluetun which I did configure when I installed Dispatcharr. I don't use Jellyfin, but understand you can set it up through Plex as well. I have a separate iOS app I use (UHF) right now. I guess one benefit might be that if you have a problem with the channel while recording that Dispatcharr would switch it after a while. I don't know if my client (Tivimate) will stop recording, but probably not if Dispatcharr keeps a "steady stream" while it switches channels in the background. No harm in developing it on the side until I decide it's got everything I want, I guess.

Thanks for the info.

Do you have TiviMate premium? You can hide channel categories

There are kids channels. Most likely labeled “US Kids”

My two kids (both under 7) love Bugs Bunny and the rest of the Looney Tunes lineup, along with Scooby Doo, Flintstones, etc

MeTV Kids is probably our most watched channel
