Is There Away To Fix Screen Problem On Mac?

Out of the blue, the left part of my screen on my mac has a black stripe down it and at the bottom there is strip that is blurred horizontally. The more I push back the screen the better it gets, but not by much.
Is this something that I will likely have to bring to the apple store to get fixed? I tried several things that were suggested online, but nothing worked. Any chance anyone can offer one more suggestion before I decide to bring it to Apple?

From your description it does sound like hardware. How old is your Mac and is it still under some warranty? Depending on that there are different repair options.
