Is There Anyway To Tell If A Nest Cam Is Recording Audio?

Just found out the owner of our company put a Nest cam in his office, which is right next to a central location and break area. He also, since our discovery last week, placed it in a clear vase. We already have security cameras around the office and he has one in his already as well. We are guessing he is using it to record audio when he is not here.

Big No no if so. Can't record a conversation you aren't a party to.

You can hear what people are saying if that’s what you’re asking. If you can go back and play it I’m not sure but if he’s tapped in live on his phone, he can pretty much hear every word

depends on the state I believe but mine is a one party consent. We also did not sign any disclosure of recording, even video, but they are very visible non-nest cameras and every person in the office has a screen for just the security cameras.
This one is specifically hidden and no one knew about it until last week. He purchased them for his house on July 4th. So it has been there sometime from then until now.
Last week, during a lengthy meeting in his office, one rep noticed the camera hidden behind some things. Today it was moved and placed inside of a vase

No I am asking if you can tell if a camera is recording audio without being in the app. You turn and off audio recording through the app. I just wasnt sure if there was some sort of indicator on the camera. For instance I have a baby cam in one of my kids room. The LED changes based off different functions. live, recording, audio

As far as I know, it does not indicate if there is a nes subscription service storing video/audio. Mine only light up when I am looking at a live feed. I think if flashes blue slowly.
