Is the Oculus Quest 2 Appropriate for Kids?

I know nothing about VR. Is it age appropriate for 8-10 year olds?
If so, what are some kid-friendly games to consider?
Are there some decent free ones or mostly have to purchase?
If they're too young for the Quest, they also have a Switch. Doesn't it have a VR Headset attachment? Do you have to buy certain games to use with it?

my 13yo has had his for twoish years now..Played on it a good bit at first, then the novelty kind of war off..he uses it now to stream some xbox supported games on the PC and every now and then asks me to buy some new Occulus title

The problem isn't the games. It's what the other avatars in the game world say around your kid. In one of the basic games, I heard, "I'm going to f$%* kill that guy" in the first 3 minutes of trying it out.
Novelty wore off before they went back to school after the Christmas brake. Same ages as yours back then.

Be very careful with VRChat and other social apps, they can be highly NSFW
They can be completely community made maps and avatars. People come up with some fricked up shite in them.
