I love the fact that no matter where I fly in the world when I land I get a message saying Project Fi has you covered here. About the only places in the world that it doesn't work are the 2 countries I have no desire to visit, Iran and N Korea.
my favorite part of having Project Fi
Although in the islands it would often be the wrong country, which was funny

When I flew to Peru it kept giving me updates while I was at 30,000 feet.
Costa Rica We have Fi here!
Panama We have Fi here!
Next October I'm heading to a non-Fi country in Myanmar after Laos. Gonna suck going dark.

n Louisiana and it has been just as good or better than anyone i know with ATT or Verizon
I'm in Alabama, and my AT&T & Verizon friends almost always have an LTE signal. With my Fi, it's often a 3G signal for me. It's not that big of a deal to me though. I really don't use my phone for much web browsing when not on Wifi. In two years I've only gone over 2GB of data once.

I spend at least 200 days a year outside the US, Tmobile is a no go.
Didn't realize that's an issue with TMO. I maybe do 30 days a year. I do get 3G and sometimes 4G but yes, it's a little slower than I'm used to. But for free I'm not complaining. I've never used it but isn't the Wi-Fi free on TMO if you're calling back to the USA?
