Everyone has made a big deal out of the faceid bezel at the top but what's that black floating bar at the bottom? Just a horizontal scroll bar or something else?

The thing that bothers me the most is that there’s no option to have the battery percentage showing all the time. You have to pull down the control center. Really dumb; they need to replace the other battery indicator with the percentage.

It really is no big deal at all. The screen is crazy nice.

One thing want to mention. If you use Itunes and backup with enryption on to do the restore it saves all your passwords for things like email. I use Outlook with 4 emails accounts and did not have to re-add passwords.

What about bluetooth or other notifications? They just simply don't get shown?

I think its the Home button indicator bar. You swipe up at it to go Home.

they should have just had the small forehead extend all the way across. jamming notifications into the left and right side is a pretty poor design.

The more I stare at those comparisons the more I'm leaning towards the iPhone 8+. I'm ok with a big phone. 200$ cheaper. Easier to obtain. Has a home button.
The X looks good though. If it were easier to obtain, maybe I'd go for that one.
ETA: Any difference in the speaker quality of speakerphone on a call? Speaker when up to the ear on a phone call? Also what about video playbacks sound from say the iPhone 8+ vs the iPhone X?

I think they have to if they want to keep the display corner to corner.
