Generally speaking, getting from the carrier will lock that phone into your carrier. Getting one from Apple gets you an unlocked phone, which is easier to resell.
I just go through through Verizon as I always upgrade and don’t have to worry about selling my phone.

I got mine through Verizon, but it was scheduled to ship Nov 3rd, so I don’t know how much that helps you.

What the frick. Just got my X. Are the videos a smaller screen size than on the plus models?!?! They sure seem to be smaller than my 6 plus. I can get used to the no home button, but I was under the impression the video size would be the same if not a bit larger. Plus side the Face Id Is amazing.

Yeah. The screen ratio looks smaller to me. I’m not sure if it’s just an illusion since there’s so much of actual screen not being used on the x or what, but it does seem smaller.

You have to zoom at this point and it will fill the screen in YouTube. Many apps haven’t been optimized for the X yet though. When cropped the image will be smaller than the 8+ simply due to the size of the actual phone.
On the positive for you, it’s rumored that next year there will be an 8+ sized phone with a full screen(think X+).

Screen is a bit slimmer across than the plus, so yes, videos will be a bit smaller. Geometry in action.

goddamnit. now i can't seem to setup my voicemail. when i click voicemail tab, it just has a "call voicemail" link in the middle, instead of a setup.

For iTunes, I have thousands of songs on my laptop in iTunes but maybe 50 I bought in iTunes and those are the only ones that show up on my phone. Is there a way to get all my music available? I ripped hundreds of my cds back in the day to my computer and would love to have that access.

Yep , just upload them in iTunes.
If you are on your WiFi network and have home sharing turned on. If your laptop is running iTunes, you should have access to them too.

BTW, the battery seems to be getting better. I usually leave my phone unplugged for FBD and this morning it is at 92%. That is above my usual 7+ status in the morning.
Totally now use to not having a button.

Man, this might be the one thing that makes me go to the 8+. My daughters and wife hog the TVs so I watch Hulu Live TV and Netflix through my phone, A LOT. Damn near nightly.
I might be the 1% where the 8+ makes more sense.
