That all makes perfect sense, and given the mainstream nature of the Galaxy products I'm surprised they still do offer the SD expansion. I've been doing a lot of Android-related googling in the past couple of weeks, and I often come across posts about issues with SD cards (too slow, how to format, not recognized, can't back it up, how to encrypt, etc, things an average user might struggle with).
On the flip side, the Nexus user base strikes me as the type who would have a better understanding of the caveats of using an SD card and what speed class is appropriate for their use. But of course SD slots and interface hardware will take up physical space, and Nexus users may also be the type who can manage storage space, make backups, and know better than to clutter their phone.

It does become a hassle adjusting settings for each individual app to tell it where to find and save the files it uses. All music, photos and videos on the SD card? Is the SD card fast enough to save UHD video you shoot? Does it load photo thumbs fast enough so that gallery apps don't feel slow? As a user, do I know enough to blame the slowness on my decision to store my photos on the SD card rather than the phone? Do I even remember I did that?
Do you even micro sdxc pro bro? 90mb/s reads.
And there are apps to set all different media type downloads to one location seamlessly. Dont short sight sd cards. They are still a great tool to have for storage options.
My gallery causes seizure activity with its speeds all from external sd.

This could be resolved by using a different filesystem, but then the SD card would basically be 'locked' into only being useful in that one device.
Doesn't matter to me, I just want to store my music library and videos with the SD storage.
You're other points make sense though.
One of the main reasons I've decided to ditch the iPhone because as it stands, with 2 year contract $300 gets you 16GB iPhone 6+ and $250 gets you 32GB on the Nexus 6.

$99 got me G3 with 32 internal and up to 128 external with removable battery.
But with the nexus you get stock lollipop 5.0 out of the box and thats awesome in and of itself. And it is a beautiful design.

I have a 6+ and I think it's great, but if you want to try out Android I think you should. I'd get the Nexus 6 hands down if it was between that and a Note 4.

Anyone get some hands on experience with the Note Edge?
I have an S4 currently, looking at an upgrade. In no rush, waiting to see what drops this spring.
Originally I disliked the Touchwiz overlay but I've grown accustomed to it. The last Nexus I briefly used was the 4.
Thinking of going the S6 route, with the possible Edge S6 rumored (maybe even double curved edges?!?!). Just wondering if anyone found it useful, or if I should go in a completely different route. Possibly LG?

The Nexus user base is where you find all the developers for Android and thus the biggest community.
It's been a bit slower since it's more expensive with the 6, but there is already multiple roms and kernels within a few days of release.
Most ROMs and kernels are developed originally on the Nexus and then ported for nightlies to someone else down the road for other devices.
If you're into modding and rooting then it's a clear no brainer every time.

None of the above... try "O" and if you can't figure that out then you might not know me.

Well, Facebook is failing me, so I'm guessing we aren't FB friends and you aren't searchable. Do you think you know who I am?
