iPhone losing shite again…. Group imessages

I’ve complained on here about contacts just going missing from my phone.
Yesterday, suddenly my family message group is missing from my phone.
The entire history of messages is now gone.
Family member sent a new message in the group and it like started over brand new again.
What the frick is wrong with iPhones?

Try restoring from a backup, do you backup texts to icloud though? Haven't had anything like that happen. Do you have other apple devices that someone could delete the text group from?

is it deleting conversations with no activity after a certain period of time? I know there is a setting to have it delete messages over 30 days old.

Back up to icloud, I'll check there.
