If y'all still want cheap, there is always VidGo. It includes all the ESPNs, SEC Network, B1G Network, FS1, ACC Network, Pac12 Network, and NFL Network.
This is good but every Ohio baseball, hockey and basketball team are on regional sports that only are carried by a couple of companies. Fox Sports Ohio, etc carries all Cincinnati Reds, Columbus Blue Jackets, Cleveland Indians, and Cleveland Cavaliers games.

The best way to go is have 3 different people on the same YTTV account. That's how we do it. We each get our own logins and DVR's and we split the cost. Ends up being $18/month including the extra for NFL RedZone. You just can't have more than 3 streams going at the same time.

Right, which makes your suggestion a bad one for most households.

This is a really hot take, but if Netflix doesn’t get some more/better content soon, I’m gonna be dropping them eventually too. They keep sneakily creeping their price up as well.

Their $8.99 SD plan really looks good on my tv. I thought I’d hate it but I don’t even notice it’s still good quality.

Cable starting to become a more viable option. Another price hike or two and they are charging the exact same as many cable providers.
Been that way for a while. I have 1Gbps fiber and directv bundled for $90/month. I have yet to find a streaming deal that would give me SECN and save me compared to my off-contract price of directv.

I use Philo for a good variety of non sports channels. Im the only big sports fan in my family so i stream all the games online for free and watch philo for shows on discovery , history etc...

The channel and content owners pull the strings, so competition among streaming providers does not follow the typical "law" of capitalism that increased competition benefits consumers. Instead, it just results in more bidders for the same content, which drives prices up.
Content owners provide the content; the streaming services and the cable companies are middlemen; the viewers are the consumers.
Obviously the prices don’t keep going up without any limit; otherwise, the prices would be sky high.
The streaming services and the cable companies negotiate the lowest price they can from the content providers. They then deliver the content to the viewer at the max price they can get the viewer to pay. In exchange, they provide certain services. They create a user interface for the viewer with all their channels in a grid. They provide DVR capability. They provide technical support etc etc. When they provide bad service, the viewer cancels the service.
More competition among the middlemen benefits the consumer. It forces the middlemen to provide the best service for the cheapest price.
I agree though that eventually more and more content providers will provide their content directly to the viewer—thereby cutting out the middleman and saving the viewers more money. But right now, only a few of the content providers have the will to do this.
