How do you handle parking mode on dash cam

I just installed my first dash cam with hardware kit so parking mode will work.
But I have been reading that it could drain the battery as well. I tried to adjust setting to lowest options to prevent that and figured (if i can remember) to only have it plugged in when not parked in my garage.
Do you do anything or is battery draining not really an issue?

I run mine off of a dewalt battery. Never had an issue.

My hardwire kit has a voltage switch that will shut it off when the battery dips below a selectable value.
The camera is set to only activate with motion and only record if it senses an event.
