I posted on the Gaming board but a poster mentioned to post here, which is a great idea.

So I'm a rookie at all of this. Trying to set this shite up so my kids can stream on Mixer with audio/video.

I got a webcam, setup Mixer, and I can now stream gameplay and see my video in the small picture in picture via the webcam, seems to work fine.

Problem is, I couldn't hear any audio when watching the stream on the Mixer website. The webcam I have has audio, is the audio supposed to come through the webcam?

I wasn't using a headset, not sure how that would even work, but would using the headset have anything to do with and allow for audio to come over on the stream on the Mixer website?

Thanks in advance.

Are you streaming from the xbox itself or a dedicated PC? I'm not in front of my xbox, but when you launch a stream on mixer there are only a few options to choose from make sure that none of the ones you have checked cancel out your audio. IIRC, I would just hit 'start broadcast' and everything worked. Are you sure the sound was working on the device you were trying to watch the stream on? i.e. you didn't have the video muted, device volume wasn't muted, etc. I will say this though, mixer's app can be finicky as frick dropping video, sound, etc. So, I would at least try doing a hard reset of the app or trying on different devices before deciding there is something wrong with the stream itself. As for including the chat in the stream, you have to check the include chat option and i believe anyone in a party has to share their audio for theirs to be included in your stream.

No PC, straight from XBox to Mixer.

From this thread and reading around, it looks like my assumption that the webcam mic would pick up the audio was incorrect, and a headset is needed. I have one, so I'll test that out later this evening, and I think I may be good to go.

Not familiar with Mixer but you can stream audio through your Xbox headset using Twitch. You may be able to do the same thing with Mixer. If not, give Twitch a try. It's very easy to use.
Again, I'm very new into looking into this streaming thing.

On the XBox, when I click "Start Broadcasting" it just goes straight to broadcasting via Mixer.

I'll have to figure out how to link it through Twitch. In all honesty, my kids really just want to post it on YouTube, so I'm not sure whether it's Mixer or Twitch that matters much. As long as they can take the stored video, download it, then upload it to Youtube, it should be fine.

Either way, I'll look into Twitch as well.

Correct, and thanks.

My kids are excited to try it out this evening.
