I'll preface this by saying I don't post much on twitter, mainly just trolling back and forth with Ole Miss fans. Pretty small account with less than 1000 followers.

Went to log in this AM and password doesnt work. Try my backup password and nothing. Tried putting in my email for password assistance and no email associated with that account.

Checked my email inbox and sure enough, this email from 7:35AM this morning:

I've already changed my passwords everywhere and submitted a trouble ticket. anyone ever been through this? Tried to go through "secure my account link" twitter emailed but it's asking for a code from a code generator app

Make a new account, twitter is a hellscape these days, i doubt they ever get back to you.

My TWITTER was hacked a few months ago. Did not have a ton of issues recovering it but it took a day or so. I, or rather someone pretending to be me, also lost some followers and was blocked by a few others. I assume the fake "potent" did me wrong. Oh well. Their loss.

Seriously. It should not be that easy to hack something so pedestrian as a TWITTER account.

Yeah Twitter gives zero fricks if you are not a paying sub, they wont even bother.

They wonder why their ad revenue is tanking

i was able to get my email address back associated with my account and recover my password, thankfully. now it's asking for a 2 factor auth. code, which i never registered for or activated... so a little progress at least.

My Twitter account got locked down during the Covid crackdown on things...I don't even post anything. It's been dormant for 5 years. I get a few emails every week where someone is trying to log in to it and Twitter sees it's suspicious activity and won't let them in.
