Got the Keyone Black edition last week. really nice.

This phone is what Blackberry should have rolled out years ago. Keyboard is similar to the Q10 and bold. Very nice.
Phone runs Android nougat and is getting the Oreo upgrade.
Regular one has 3gb ram and 32 gb of internal memory but this one has 4gb RAM and 64 gb of memory. I'm not a gamer so everything is smooth and fast. Available at BB and Amazon although AT&T sells the lower spec'ed version.
Battery is a beast. I've yet to get close to 50%.

Got the Seidio double layer case. Nice good fit and solid protection.

It is a pretty nice device as is the DTEK60 if you prefer a device without a physical keyboard.
I was pretty skeptical of their relaunch with android, but they have done a nice job securing the android OS and my recommendation is that their devices should be on the short list for those looking for an android phone.

I would have sold you my standard edition on the cheap. Reception is shite, speaker phone is shite, and keyboard swiping is also shite. When I know I have an important call I slap my Sim card back into my Passport, the GOAT device.

Did they change the antenna or something? Did they change the speaker? Take a call back to back between your KeyOne and your Passport, especially on speaker. Tell me you don't notice a significant difference. Speakerphone on my Q10 is better than the KeyOne. It's pathetic.

Speakerphone isn't as good as passport but not bad either. Not a deal-breaker for me. Reception been fine. I suspect you got one of the early batches. The black edition has some improvements.

I tried one of these because before Apple came along, I was a huge BB fan. So I tried it out hoping to get that same BB feel.
After I tried it out for a month I RAN back to my iphone.
Why? Because I think android is garbage. I think the phone itsef is fine, but the OS is garbage.
I often think about buying a passport with BBOS and trying that out. I would love it if they relaunched the BBOS with native apps and all. Maybe one day.

I customized android to where I’m pretty comfortable w it. Textra helps a lot and is similar to bb10.

Order a good rubber case. That supposedly helps with the reception. The early ones had that problem. Like I said, the Black Edition made improvements. I can let you look at my Keyone BE and play with it some if you want to see how it compares.

What I would do is sell your K1. You can get at least $300 for it. Then order the black edition.

They made significant improvements from the 1st gen K1 to the black edition.

Yup. First time to make a BB phone, figured first batch would have bugs. Unlike BB however, this company is much more nimble and fixes bugs as well as roll out improvements. Also knows how to market. I actually see people using this phone now.
