Gopro hero 8 vs 9

Looking to get a used gopro for a snorkel trip to USVI.

Is a 9 going to be that much better than a 8?

I was comparing these when I wanted to get one for vacations. Decided on the 8 and saved myself some money. You won't notice a difference.

I have a 9 and it does more than I have the need for. I can't directly compare it to the 8 though.

Brand new on Amazon it's only about a $30 difference.

Many, many reviews/videos giving direct, side-by-side comparisons on youtube. They might help you make a decision.

Definitely a 9. The 9 accessories are compatible all the way up to the 11. The 8 and its stuff is not compatible. I currently have 2 Hero 11s, one 9 and a Sessions. I had an 8 that I traded for my 9. My 11 batteries are compatible with the 9 not the 8 and earlier. The 9 has better stabilization for sure and better over all video quality. I use my stuff a lot for work as well play and know them pretty well. Wouldn't spend the extra for an 11 because they overheat but are awesome otherwise.
