Google photos won’t let me log in from new iPhone

Just upgraded from the iPhone X to the 14 and did the cloud transfer. Now when I try to log into google photos from my new phone (using my gmail account and password), there is no button that pops up anymore to tap “yes” or to repeat the number that was sent. There’s normally an option to send a text message to my phone number to confirm, but this is in gray text instead of black and it won’t let me use that as an option for some reason. Thoughts on how to fix? Thanks.

I see now that google photos says it “is sending a notification to my iPhone XR” when it’s an iPhone 14 I have now. This appears to be the root cause of the issue, how do I get google photos to recognize the iPhone 14 instead of my old iPhone XR.

Remove the iPhone XR from youre Google account.
