Just wanted to give a quick review for anyone looking for a simple, fast router.

Pros:
-Ridiculously easy setup.
-Ability to remotely check status and connected devices.
-Parental controls to disable certain devices.
-No significant speed drop-off anywhere in house (~2300 Sq. ft.) with just the single wifi point.

Cons:
-Lack of ethernet ports.
-Overall minimal customization on the back end.

I solved the lack of ports ith a $13 ethernet switch and all the devices run flawlessly.
I was tired of fighting my old router and just wanted something that worked and it's been rock solid. I'm sure there's better options for the more tech driven folks, but I would 100% recommend. Also a great option for older folks you may have to "help" often.

I think you mean Google Nest, not Alexa. Alexa is Amazon.

Does anyone know if it can be used by folks who have att fiber? Can it replace the att-provided modem or must att’s be used?

i have first gen google wifi and i also have att fiber. setting it up was a bit hard -- there is this bizarre "double nat" issue. it's fixable, but some people still report problems

as for the OP, i've generally been pleased with my google wifi, but recently they pushed an update that has killed my google speaker groups (i can no longer cast to devices not on the same node/puck). this is making me think about switching to another system...especially because google's support on this has been terrible.

Same here, but I had no issues. Ethernet out of the ATT Fiber router/modem directly to my base puck. Worked without having to configure anything. I was surprised. I had heard it could be a challenge.

took me about 3 days to get it right. first, the box i was given by att was the notorious one that had firmware issues (so i had to find the right firmware). second, i followed all online directions. third, i kept dropping internet every 6 mninutes or so, until i discovered that the mac google wifi gives you is their wifi mac ID and you have to hunt for the ethernet mac id. it was a mess...but since i have done that, it's worked almost flawlessly.

save for my new issue re: google speaker groups which is driving me up a wall...

I don’t understand why they removed the Ethernet out port. If anything they should have added POE.

I run my old google wifi wired, with a switch in between the main puck and the others. it’s been awesome. No halfing of throughput for each hop.

I'm pretty sure the bottle neck at home now is my old router (Apple Airport) How's the range on these things? My house is within the recommended sq footage for just a router but it's a 3 level town home. Would I also want to get a pod to extend the network? Currently I get wifi on all three level with only slight degradation on the top floor so I assume I would still be ok or do the new faster wireless bands have a shorter distance?
