Scoured the webz and nothing definitive so phoning all you nerds!

I have Google nest hubs and have Google nest doorbell and other outdoor nest cameras. Question is, how can I create an automation that alerts a Google nest hubs if it notices activity from say the nest doorbell AND then show the front door camera on the same Google home?
If I physically say the command “hey Google, show me the front door”, it works. But if I try and make that a Google command via the automation section of the Home app, nothing.
I can easily get it to broadcast a message but not then subsequently show the camera.

Basically trying to create a smart home automation as a security measure.
Thoughts?!

… and as a follow up? Anyone got a Google pixel tablet with the docking station? Seems like a nice little device for home automation/camera viewing and light tablet viewing. They’re on sale so had to ask.

I gave up on getting that to work.

Google has owned Nest for years now, and the state of the software is pitiful.

The whole home automation market is really fragmented and in my opinion, dying a slow death. Trying to get a bunch of different HA products from different vendors to function together is almost impossible.

I’m ignorantly optimistic that once they get Gemini rolled out they’ll get their shite together.

But Jesus, even a 12th grade marketing team could put together a commercial where they show a nest doorbell camera + Google home + Google nest audio all working together for doorbells (done) and even security (not done).

I have a Nest doorbell and a google nest hub...it used to show who was at the door when the doorbell rings, but now that I see your question, I don't think it does that anymore. Looking in settings, I don't see anything. Awesome. Damn thing only chimes on the analog chime 10% of the time now too. I ain't playing with them tiny wires again.

It still does that, for me. It still shows the front door camera when someone rings it.
Just really wish it would show the camera when it notices someone “tripping” a certain zone (or the doorbell).
