Hey everyone,
My 65 year old dad fell for a Boss Gift Card Scam where he was emailed and asked to buy 6 $200 gift cards by his "boss". He did so, but luckily, he realized it was a scam before sending the codes in.

So now, he has $1200 worth of ebay gift cards. the drugstore won't refund him, ebay won't refund him, and he doesn't have any large purchases coming. Looks like his best bet is to buy Walmart or some grocery store gift cards with the ebay cards to "wash" his money. Any other ideas?

Anyone about to make a large purchase on ebay that wants to buy any cards, let me know!

you can sell gift cards to a few companies if he just wants to cash out and take a minor loss or you can pretty much buy anything on ebay now, just like amazon

Sell it on one of those gift card exchange sites as mentioned or buy a visa gift card on Ebay for a premium.

They are good for a while. Just tell him to wait until he needs a new TV or something of that nature. This could have gone a WHOLE LOT WORSE!

I’ve seen some pawn shops advertise that they will buy gift cards. No idea how much of a loss you would take but it could be an option.
