Getting an iMovie video from iphone to computer

Recently went on vacation and took lots of video. So I decided to string all of the videos together to make one long movie. Came out to just over an hour. I used the iMovie app on my iphone and then saved it to my photo album. It's a very large file (26 GB).
So I am trying to transfer it over to my computer. I plugged the phone up via the usb to my computer, opened up the internal storage and started looking for the video. It does not appear anywhere in the internal storage. I've tried filtering by size and file name and it doesn't show up.
The other thing I have tried is to upload it to youtube as and unlisted video. But it has been stuck saying "waiting" since yesterday.
Any suggestions on how I can get this thing onto my computer?
ETA: I have considered just importing all of the individual videos onto my computer and using a video editing program. If that’s what I have to do, then so be it. If that’s the best option, can someone recommend a decent video editing program for a decent price (or even free if there is one)?

Apple's file management is pure trash.

No disagreement here.

Has anyone used DaVinci Resolve?
Did some searching and it seems to be the most recommended free video editor. Any complaints?

It should auto sync on your computer from iCloud.

Upload to google drive and then download on computer? Would need to pay the $2 to expand google drive storage.

I’ll have to upgrade my iCloud storage, but this seems like the easiest thing to do. I absolutely didn’t even think about it.

Thanks.
