Free PDF download

My old hard drive failed and new HD installed. I forgot to ask FIX-IT repair shop to install PDF.
I found 10 day free downloads with subscription fees thereafter. If the old time free no strings attached download is extinct. I would prefer to buy the software without subscription if available. All comments welcomed. Thanks

Adobe Reader is free, and Edge browser can open PDF files just fine.

Opera browser is still available for pdf files too and still free.

pretty sure you can open a PDF in Edge, Chrome or any other browser without the need for a separate app these days.
