What should I look out for that may be wrong with it? Seems like a good price.

ETA nevermind I bought it. Looks brand new and came with box and all original accessories.

At worst I can resell it for allot more

Holy tomatoes. Sub plus stereo paired play 3s sounds nothing short of amazing on my screened in porch. The key was finally mounting the 3s and using my wife's iPhone to calibrate the room.

Just discovered alarms in Sonos too. That will suffice for what I want to do as far as setting the mood in the mornings and when I get home from work. They should call it schedules or scenes to be more clear what that feature does.

Still a terrible UI but I'm pretty much sold on Sonos.

The number of integrated devices they have that are already mature presents a decent challenge for anyone entering this space and the audio is out this world.

Pricey but so far I've kept an eye on Craigslist and picked everything up for almost half price.

There are still some problems but like wink it's just the software and I'm hoping they start to address them especially now that they are getting some competition.

CAD: I have the Sonos:Playbar as my main sound in my living room. Have that paired to the Sonos Connect:AMP powering 4 in ceiling speakers for surround sound.
Would I notice a big difference in sound if I got the sub and paired all that?

I've got way too many wifi devices in my house. The ATT installer this weekend gave me 1000mbps and then I was griping about my wifi speeds. He ran some tests and we have over 30+ wifi devices. I felt over privileged in that moment.

You might really like the Wink/Sonos integration then.

i'm not 100% sure how it treats those ceiling speakers. Are they in a 5:1 setup now?

The sub is nothing short of amazing. It packs a wallop for sure and when you use an iPhone to calibrate the room its a no-brainer on how loud the 'boom' is.

I have a hsu sub that was paired with my old surround system and I would say the sonos hub is better than it.

I think playbar plus sub (plus your ceiling speakers) will be a huge update to your home theater system.

yeah i dont even want to talk about this. i have six family members in my house and 100+ smart doodads. i'm going to be dead from the magnetic fields in my house in 6 months.

Yea. It sounds just as good as my 5.1 setup (with a sub) with a receiver I previously had till that thing fried.

I'm tempted to purchase the sub but we have little ones where 1 is always napping so we have to watch our TV sound levels often. Nervous the sub would only anger the wife but I do really want one.

600$ is just expensive for a device that's been out 2+ years now. Almost wish they'd make a new one but there's probably not much they can do to improve a sub in 2017. A sub is a sub, it shakes to make sound, the end.

i hear the playbar is pretty amazing on its own. thats the next nut i'm going to crack with my new sonos addiction.

its not worth it. this thing is LOUD. as in your house will bounce around with it on. i paired it on my back porch because of that and its still almost too much. i dont plan to bring it into my tv room because my 2yo's room is too close. maybe when he's a bit older.

this sub will fill a BIG space, our screened porch is 16x25 and even with 3 walls composed of screens it FILLS THE ROOM.

imo they should release a smaller version of it for a couple hundred less. i think they'd sell like crazy. this thing is industrial grade.

You have four in ceiling surround speakers ? Are they all located behind you ?

IMO I wouldn't own a playbar without a sub.

And I AGREE with CAD, the UI is pretty meh after the latest update.

2 in front and 2 behind normal seating in my living room. They are all hard wired to the 2 outputs from the amp. Forget what's that's called... just twisting the 2 reds together and the 2 blacks.

Agreed. Why did they do that? It looks awful.

so i picked up a playbar from ebay for $450 now too.

my sonos addiction is complete.

i'm hoping to get $100 out of my existing shitty vizio soundbar + wireless sub. even without using the sonos sub inside i think its going to sound better than what i am using now.

i'm beyond pumped. the playbar was the missing link so i can send tv audio all over the house now.

The playbar by itself is impressive. One of the better sounding soundbar's I've heard. I can only imagine what it sounds like WITH the Sub.

I'll have to wait probably 2 years before I add the sub. My kids are just too small and nap too much currently.

not moving the sub indoors.

its PERFECT in the screened porch paired with the stereo 3s.

i can crank it up to 5-6 and you still can't hear it inside or feel it unless you're really looking for it.

inside it would overwhelm the room i have the TV in.

If you are trying to do a 5.1 setup your surround speakers shouldn't be in front of you.

Do you have the bar and amp wired together or are you just grouping them together as two different zones?

Agreed. It's not exactly a 5.1 surround as the Connect:AMP controls 4 speakers spaced evenly in the ceiling (2 front and 2 back) but since they're both hard wired and twisted together to the amp, the amp doesn't know.

However, the Sonos App does a great job of making a 5.1 surround sound effect for those 4 speakers.
Sounds just as good to me as my previous 7.1 surround sound setup with a receiver and small speaker setup.

Then again, we aren't going for BREAK THE WALLS DOWN, RAWWWRRR FEEL EVERYTHING IN YOUR CHEST sound. I actually don't like watching movies that way, to be honest.
