These people are doing everything they can to go out of business. I will smile when fiber optics or 5G puts them and their sorry over priced services into bankruptcy. Clearly they keep raising the price to compensate for customers they lose.
I was so fed up with the service interruptions I canceled them ( wasn’t working ) before I had new service. I am going to try AT&T. Basic 5. I am hoping this is enough to stream video.

AT&T isn’t any better. They will raise your price to above Cox levels after your introductory period.

5mbps is enough to stream video poorly lol.

Like the other poster said, you're not going to have a good time streaming at 5mbps. Also, if that plan has a low data cap, you're going to be looking at a bunch of overage charges.

Cox might suck, but switching to AT&T is actually a downgrade.

Cox is doing fiber to business already.. I'm sure they're looking at fiber to home.

5G won't be putting ISPs out for a long while, if at all.

Maybe not, but SpaceX might in a few years

Yeah that's quite possible to start hurting residential ISPs in the next decade. I don't think residential service is their main focus for a while though, and it may be a while before they can handle that kind of density.

My bill for gigabit fiber three years on with ATT with no data caps is still 25% less than what I paid Comcast for 100 mb/s with data caps. Intro price was $80. Raised to $90 after the first year and it's so far stayed there.
