Fiber home installation question

REV is running fiber in my neighborhood currently. I noticed the put the box for home connections on the opposite side of my property from where my current connection is.
My media closet is closer to the current connection point so the cable comes into the wall goes up to the attic and down into the media closet which is a fairly short distance.
Will they be able to run the new fiber line into the wall up to the attic and across the house and down to the media closet? I estimate it could be 150-200ft of run.

Not sure about REV, but cable is cheap. They can add more no problem.
Doubt they’ll want to do more than drill a small hole in the soffit and plug with a slit grommet to reach the attic though.

This is my concern.
Not sure if it’s fiber to ONT or modem or both.

No. They might be willing to go up the outside, then into the attic and across but fishing up through an insulated wall would be futility.
Another option is running the fiber in ground around the house to the other side. A similar option is coming up on the side of the house and then running the fiber around the exterior of the house (on the side of the house) around to where you want it to go in.
This all depends on the company and your installing tech. You can't make them do anything they dont want to. Be prepared you may just have to cancel your install if they wont do it how you want.

Nobody has modems. The two common setups these days are gateways with internal ONTs (like at&t) and wall jack style ONTs (google fiber). Both require fiber almost all the way to the final use point as you would want the fiber wall jack installed at your router location.

With AT&T fiber, it's just a SM SC jumper going from the SM SC box on the wall to the ONT (what you would call a modem). Not sure how REV does it, but if it's similar, you can get your own SM SC cable to run from the box to the ONT

Using copper ethernet from handoff will be fine. I only say this as Eatel/REV isn't going to do what you're asking and just pulling copper to your media closet will suffice. Now, if you're getting something crazy and over 10 gigs then sure pull fiber to the closet but I'm assuming you'll be under 10 gigs

When REV installed fiber at my house I spoke to the installer when he was a few houses down. I told him how far it was from the entry point to my routers through the attic. He said they couldn't run it but he could give me enough wire to run myself and they would tie into when he came. So I took the wire and had it all run for him when he got to my house.

I could be comfortable doing this. I don’t think I could terminate the fiber myself though. Did you run it from the attic down an exterior wall to the entrance point on exterior of your house?

When I had Eatel at my other house, they placed an ONT outside and ran cat6 to my router. Not sure if this is how they still do it. We just had internet and no TV from Eatel so that may have made a difference in conncections.

Ya they’re either going straight through a wall or straight up into the soffit. If you need something else you may need to hire it out.
I wasn’t worried about the soffit hole so I talked my Frontier tech into snaking 70’ through my attic to my IT area. Having the ONT indoor is better for me and better for them.
He had plenty 50’ fiber extensions with him.

They gave me a 200' roll of premade cable. I ran it down the exterior wall in conduit to their box. I just left the extra cable rolled up in the soffit.

Just had rev installed at my house. I have my media closet at very back of my house guy asked where I wanted never asked anything else just did it. It's a good run to the back of house but it was on the correct side of house. Good Luck

I might run it up the exterior wall and into the attic myself. The problem with going up the wall into the soffit on my house is the cable is black, my house is white and the side the house I assume they will want to tap into is the driveway side. I think me and the wife can handle a small box on that side of the house but not a black cable going all the way up the wall. I’m sure I could get some white enclosed raceway but not sure that wouldn’t look out of place either.
Built this house 3 years ago and every single utility is on the other side of the property until this week ??

That’s what they did to mine. 10 years ago. Never had a problem.

Just paint the cable white

You'll need to be repainting in about 5 years or less anyway. At that point the cable will match the siding. First paints on new houses dont last long.
