I unplug it if I see its above 90%. Apparently that helps extend battery life. Teslas do that too. They limit charging to 90% and you have to manually override it if you want to charge to 100%. Obviously it's more important on a car than a cellphone.

In the past the largest issue was draining your phone all the way too often. Phone software takes care of all of this to maximize battery longevity now. Your phone dies with 15-20% actually left in the battery to prevent that from happening.

Most phones and computers are now smart enough that this doesn’t matter. You aren’t likely brining a battery to 0% and you aren’t charging to 100% capacity.
