Have a 50” tcl mounted outside. Put an outdoor speaker next to it and now it’s discolored and blurry down the side where the speaker was. Getting a new tv and not putting speaker back but was just curious. Reading other forums they say it shouldn’t hurt the tv. Just wondering if maybe coincidence

I'm curious how long you left the speaker next to it. Maybe there was something else going on that caused the distortion. These TVs are pretty sensitive to heat.

It was left there for a while. Don’t know exactly but I never noticed it when I put it there but one day it was fricked up and happened to be on the side where I put the speaker. Oh well. I just bought a new 55” tcl from Walmart for $358. For that price I’ll replace it every year if I have to. I use that tv more than any in my house.

No, magnets do not affect LCD/LED TV's. They did affect CRTs.
