It's because individual companies own the locals. NBC doesn't necessarily own every NBC affiliate.

Yep. That's what I did. Walked out in like 10 minutes. I called ahead and they had someone waiting for me and had the Apple TV on the desk.
Said I was their first and others were huddled around watching how the lady did it

Hmmmmmmmm, I'm very tempted to prepay the $35 for 3 months and get me an Apple TV. I've been looking for alternatives to Cox since our bill got jacked up yet AGAIN. Any idea how long the Apple TV deal is good for? Can you order online and go pick up at an AT&T store or do I need to go to the AT&T store and place the order there?
Also, if I can stream this through my AT&T cell phone with no impact to my data usage, would I be able to cast from my iPhone to my TV whatever I'm watching on the phone?

Yep. However, this is the launch day so I'm pretty sure there are a few kinks to work out. Sling does the same thing after all this time. Can't wait to get home so I can cancel that shite!

Yea I've gotten a few times, especially from the guide section. The home area seems less glitchy.
Maybe it's cause it's new but I love this service. You can pause, rewind and fast forward live tv and VOD content including ESPN and others. That crushes slingtv.
The menu is so much better too and content appears to be in 5.1 sound whereas sling was not.

I keep getting a video failed to load error after watching for a few minutes. Anyone else getting this. The Directv now website doesn't seem to like me, it keeps telling me it can't load.

Try resetting your device. There was a flew glitches when I was at the ATT store. The employee reset my phone and it works flawless now.

Mine just said too many streams as well,just called in they can't help you and the website where you need to go for live chat is down, so I'm calling back in now and I'm back on hold lol day 1 jitters prob but damn they are not prepared
