Direct wire LED strip controller

I have a small open cabinet area above the kitchen sink, where there was previously a small fixture. I think LED strips would be nice additions here. Post-remodel we have a switch that powers the cable that goes to the cabinet area.
Since I have bare romex run to this nook already, I can’t use the controllers I see everywhere that use receptacle plugs on the 110V side. Are there controllers that just have leads inside to connect my 110v power? I do not have room in this area to hide a junction box, but I can hide a slim LED controller. I’m having trouble finding what I’m looking for. Or can most power supplies be opened up to connect my own cable?? Tia.

You are going to have to change that from AC to whatever DC current/voltage the LED strip AND controller need. They make in-line buck converters for this purpose.
AC line into buck converter, +/g out to LED controller.
ETA: Here is one that I have used for my 5V LED strips.
Amazon: 100-240VAC to 5V/3A DC Buck Converter

I think just some 12V led strips.

Is it in a single gang box(alone)?

Yes, I believe so. Is there something I need to be concerned with?

I don't see any issue at all. Maybe QT was thinking you could hide the transformer in the switch box, but at 6" long and the fact it needs to dissipate heat, I don't think that would be a good idea.

I think WAC Lighting make a switch with the driver built in now.

Thanks. The cabinet space is high enough and deep enough that I can hide an LED driver that’s not too big. Hiding a blue remodel box would be a little tougher.
