Why are digital tv antennas made with a coax output end instead of and HDMI or even a composite end?

Digital is just a marketing scheme. Coax still gives a great OTA signal to the TV. No need to complicate it.

I’m asking because my vizio tv doesn’t have a antenna input which means I have to buy another piece of equipment to use the antenna. Which in turns makes this process more complicated. Lol

quote:You might want to look into getting an HDHomeRun Connect (Duo or Quatro, 2 or 4 tuners). It's a box that you hook your antenna to, and you plug it into your router. After that you can use a variety of apps on your TV, streaming stick, phone, tablet, computer, etc. to access your live local TV. You also have several options to add DVR functionality.

It helps you avoid having to hook an antenna (plus tuner box in your case) to each TV, or from having to split coax and run it to each TV. Phone/tablet/etc viewing is a bonus.

That’s not a bad idea!
