Not sure if models make a difference ...

When using my iWatch, I can read (and send) iMessages and Text Messages. When finished with message, I delete it off of my iWatch, however the iMessage and/or Text Message (SMS) is still available on my iPhone and iPad.

If I reverse the scenario, I can delete an iMessage or Text Message from my iPhone and/or iPad and it will then be deleted on my iWatch.

Simplified ... iPhone or IPad will delete messages across the platform including iWatch.

iWatch will NOT delete messages across the platform ... iPhone or iPad ... but it will delete off iWatch.

Is this a known issue with Apple? I’ve read some posts prior to this, but many seem dated.

Thoughts?

Don't worry too much about it, she already knows...

The watch is not actually sending and receiving any messages. Your phone is. The watch is just an extension working through Bluetooth.

I have the Cellular + GPS iWatch. Does that make a difference?

Also, a slight correction to OP.

I can only delete iMessages ... from my iPhone and/or iPad ... the text (SMS) messages still remain on iWatch if deleted from iPhone and/or iPad.

Doing a quick search leads to this:

quote:

Message deletion is not synced across Apple Watch and iPhone (and there is no way to enable this).

Messages instead need to be deleted separately on each device.

Appreciate your help!

That's disappointing. One would think that what I am trying to do would work across their entire platform or ecosystem.
