Remote control for what?

If you don't have any electronic contact cleaner, then you can use some high purity rubbing alcohol.

Edit: Is this just like a TV remote and the battery contacts are corroded? Just get some whatever 70% alcohol and a qtip and rub them down. When you put the new batteries in spin them a few times to make sure they make good contact.

depending on the remote, you might just be able to download an app and use your phone instead.

i had a neighbor saturday night who set up this whole outdoor projector theater & tent thing for his kid's birthday and all his friends and he was super upset and about to take it all down because he couldn't find his firetv remote.

i told him 'you know you can just use your phone...'

Baking soda helps neutralize it too.

If its rust, might be able to get some sandpaper in there.

baking soda and water, put it on a q tip. Baking soda is a base so it will neutralize the acid.
