I have a camp on Toledo Bend with decent cell signal. However, on weekends in the spring and summer, the towers get overloaded with tourists and your phone becomes an overpriced camera.

Can signal boosters help with this? TIA

HiBoost makes a nice line of boosters. If you think the towers are congested, have you tried changing your cell data setting to LTE? Usually what i do post storm/power outages when everyone is on cell towers and works enough to get messages amd make calls...

Does your camp have internet? If so, look at using WiFi calling.

I don’t think you’ll accomplish what you want. You’ll have a better signal to the tower, but if the tower is still overloaded, it’ll still be slow.

ETA: the WiFi calling suggested above would be your best bet in a tower overload or weak signal situation as it is using the internet as your backhaul and not the tower signal.

No internet available there, so WiFi is out.

Cell signal boosters claim to work on overcrowded networks. I figured some folks on here, especially in rural or vacation areas might have experience with this.

I purchased the WeBoost Home MultiRoom system for my camp in the fall. Our situation differs a bit from yours. My camp is in the middle of the woods. Sometimes we would get 1 bar in one particular spot in the camp or we could sometimes get a call out down the driveway but it would always drop.

We added the WeBoost system which has an exterior antenna and an interior antenna. We now get about 3 bars in the camp and can access the internet on our phones if needed. We really needed this system in case of an emergency as the guys I hunt with are starting to get up there in age.

One weird thing with the system that we experienced was getting a worse signal when we attached the exterior antenna to a taller pole. We originally had the WeBoost antenna on a 3ft pole attached at the peak of the roof. It worked great. Then we attached it about 6ft up a 30ft pole that has the tv antenna at the top, 2ft away from the smaller pole. We lost the cell signal that we had on the 3ft pole. We tried this 2-3 times and never could get it to work on the taller pole.
