TrueCable spec sheets show some Fluke testing. Not sure if that means anything though.

Not completely true, maybe not all drops would need one but some could/do. If I didn't have them all over in my house I would be screwed once the walls were buttoned up.
I'dd look into this OP and don't let them run the wires in the conduit now save that for possible future needs.

When the pricks decide to staple your bare runs to the studs, having conduit comes in very handy.

Yeah, residential contractors aren't going the extra mile just to be dicks. If it's not required, they ain't doing it.

I think the best compromise is to just run Cat 6 and conduit. Even if Cat 6 is fine for the entire time you have your home, you might want to add additional lines in the future for other things.
