Almost completed my new home construction in a neighborhood consisting of about 12 homes. We have underground telephone line on both sides of the street. Approximately every other home has the phone box coming out of the ground. I have one in front of my home. Everyone has AT&T U-verse for internet. Went by the local store and they told me that they do not service my home address. Same goes whenever I called the tech support and sales dept. My neighbors line run on our property line. A few days later, they supposedly sent someone to survey the area, and they informed me that I could not get service at this time. What is frustrating is that all of my neighbors have it and they have their box in front of my home. How can this be? Really have no other internet options except for the hotspot box which is $110/month for 100GB of data. If I could meet with a tech at my box, I would like him to further explain why I cant get their service. Has anyone encountered this?

May be over subscribed for the area. In other words, there's too many customers using their service to add anymore. Centurylink did this around my house. I had the service and it was terrible, super slow and not getting the speeds I was paying for. Complained about it for a while before I ditched them and built out my own network to my house through a WISP that I was an engineer for. Not long after that, the new neighbors were telling me that Centurylink wouldn't service them because they had too many customers for the infrastructure they had built out in my neighborhood.

Ask your neighbors for their wifi passwords.
