I learned the hard way that you cannot load the Spectrum TV app on a Fire Edition TV. My question now is: Can you use a Roku stick on a Fire Edition TV and load the Spectrum app onto the Roku? Someone please help me on this! thanks in advance.

You can manually load most anything on a firetv and it's a good skill to learn as there are many good apps that aren't available in the play store that you can manually load. Here is how to install the spectrum app.

I have since learned that you can load Spectrum on either a Samsung smart TV or onto a Roku TV or stick. I was just looking for confirmation if a Roku stick would work on a TV that already has Fire built into it. Didn't know if they maybe blocked Roku devices on the Fire Edition TV's.

Lazy, I used those in instructions for "sideloading" the app and I was able to get it installed but it didn't work after it was all said and done. I Guess I can buy a Roku and try it. If it don't work I can probably return it.

That's odd. Did you enable apps from unknown sources and create your user name and password on the spectrum web site before installing?

Lazy: yes, I did everything right but in the local (Slidell/New Orleans) market, Spectrum has cockblocked users from using their app on everything except Roku TV's and Samsung Smart TV's. That's why I am semi hesitant to buy a Roku unit for this Fire Edition TV I have. No one can give me a straight answer at Spectrum if it will work or not.

Update: I just hung up with Spectrum. Now Roku is no longer applicable with Spectrum app! Glad I didn't go buy one. She told me their agreement expired in late December. Now they are saying that the only compatible streaming devices are Apple TV and Chrome cast. I am not familiar with either; but I suppose I will dig into them now.
