The service menu has an hour meter on it. You can google how to access your specific model number. This will just tell you how many hours the TV was on. Who knows if anyone was in the room watching it or if it was just left on while everyone was outside.

Sounds pretty interesting, but would be a bit overkill for my household. Kids love having the TV on for their shows, but they are never in front of it for more than 15-30 minutes at a time. I often find Disney+ streaming something and they are out on the back porch, but it's the end of the world when they come in and we either paused the show or shut off the TV
For my kids, it almost seems like they will watch less TV the longer the TV is on. Unless they are tired/sick; then they'll park their asses on the couch and watch until we say something.
Curious; does it track the TV on, or when specific services are active? Wife & I will often put on regular TV as background noise once the kids are sleeping.

quote:I have Home Assistant tracking the Roku rather than the TV itself, and it tracks the states on, idle, playing, and paused regardless of which app is in use. I don't use any smart TV features, but usually if there's a Home Assistant integration for the TV then it should track the same states.

As for tracking which app is playing, it doesn't store that information in the history by default. HA knows which app is playing, and it knows all the apps installed on the Roku, but it just keeps track of the generic states listed above. I'm sure you can store the app information if you want to, though. It's just more work to wire up those triggers and automations for little benefit in my case.
