Adapters to what?

For antiquated computer gear including all kinds of adapters, the recycling place on Main St has a ton, much of it donated by me.

Yeah, but USB-to-what? Serial port? Keyboard? Mouse?

Maybe something like this:

I recognize the FTDI chip from my excursion into JP1 remotes several years ago. Their stuff worked great, while the Delcom-based cable I tried did not.

This has worked for me. LINK

The Prolific 2303 chipset seems to be the key.

Why are yall linking expensive arse ones?

Anything that uses the Prolific PL2303, FTDI FT232, or SiLabs CP2102 chipset should work great.

$8.99 Prolific-based serial-USB converter

Note that some shite just won't be compatible with USB adapters. Some stuff requires native serial support.

I linked to the first one I found. OP will have to determine what's suitable for him.

Now that you mention it, Prolific may have been the chip manufacturer for my bad JP1 experience. I do recognize that name. I'm certain that FTDI worked like a charm. YMMV, but that's why I recommended FTDI.

Thanks guys. I am going to buy every one of the ones posted.

Hopefully one of them will get these older sidefire radar units connecting to my computer.
