Best Place/Way to Get New I Phone

I apologize for the naivete. My wife wants a new I Phone. Is there a preferable (i.e., less expensive) way to go about getting the new phone? Or does it not really matter where I get it? Thanks, from a novice.

I would use swappa unless it has to be “new”. Never had a problem on there. Just bought my wife an iPhone XS Max for $850 in excellent condition off there.
