The wife got a Lenovo Ideapad 310 for $325 a couple of weeks ago, and really likes it so far. Came with the 6th gen i5 intel, and I upgraded to the full 12gbs of memory. Has the touchscreen and I'm a little iffy on its functionality when it comes to MS Office.

I just received the Ideapad 510s. I have only had it for a day but I would say so far it will be fine for my needs. I only intend to use it for surfing, a little Netflix or youtube here and there, and an online routing simulator.

I 2nd the Lenovo IdeaPad 510s but total was right under $600. Whatever you do I would recommend buying a solid state hard drive and changing it out yourself. Very easy to do and worth it!

Forget brand. Find the one with the best processor and RAM within your budget and go.

I don't know how soon you need it, I don't really use a computer all that much at home. Definitely, nothing that requires a workhorse or anything.

I found a like new laptop with the features i wanted for 200 online. Not refurbished, guy just didn't want it. Like a 500 unit just like new.

Check Craigslist and know the specs you want.

SSD has a lot faster speed than a HDD, but they cost more and don't have as much storage.

For RAM 8gb is pretty standard, but at your price point it may only be 4gb.
