I am considering buying something to set-up by my pool/backyard.
Does anyone have one of these set-up at their house? What do you have? Anything to avoid or where to spend the extra money? I would like to spend around $2,000 on the whole set-up.
Thanks

I’m in the same boat as you. I’d buy a cheaper 4K tv and maybe a Sonos play 5 for your tv and music needs outside
The TCL 6 series comes highly recommended on this site and I just saw they are a little less than $600 for a 55”

I would not buy a TV. I'd buy an inexpensive projector and screen and set it up out there when you want to use it. Keep it safe inside when you don't. There's no need to do anything like surround sound outside. Get three speakers and a receiver and set them up in an LCR array when you want to watch something. Where you house the receiver, cable box etc and how you get wires to the speakers are going to be your biggest challenge. That and dealing with a lot of light unless you only plan on using it when it's dark outside.
If you're not looking to actually set up a theater out there but instead this is more of a patio/porch thing I'd look at the advice given above.

I have an inflatable 14ft screen. We put it in our backyard off our deck for parties and just run stereo sound from the porch. Projector from the deck.
Works great for parties but wouldn’t use it for day to day. There are some framed outdoor temporary ones that display better but the inflatable ones go up and away with so much more ease.

This is going to a temporary thing that I would only put up for occasions - pool party, game etc.
What type of projector do you use? And, how do you go about getting the movies to the projector - streaming, download, blu ray?

lots of projectors now have HDMI ports you can add firestick to and watch lots of things assuming you have decent WiFi outside.

That's not really appropriate for an outdoor space by a pool. You need volume outdoors by a pool and it would be prudent to have waterproof (marine grade) speakers.
