I need to add speakers to my pizza place, we have 6 tvs that use a OREI 1x8 HDMI Extender Splitter to connect all the tvs. The system has an hdmi output that is not being used. My thinking is that I can use the HDMI output to feed into a receiver to feed audio from the tvs or to use Bluetooth to play music. The plan is to use some sort of hanging penant speakers. The dining room is 26' wide and 33' long. What speakers (and how many) do I need and what reciever should I get?

Few pictures for reference

Looks like there are several types of pendant speakers to choose from.

Jbl Bose Rockville

I mean since you have the space already you could get a 6 pack of them and see how it sounds and add as needed

What is the video source for the TVs?

They are Amazon TVs, they run on Wi-Fi when the tvs run independently and the REI box has a fire stick attached when they are running as a group.

Also, I think the receiver is more important than the speakers at this point, I'm just not sure which receiver will work best for my application.

How much money do you want to spend?

How many zones and how many speakers do you think you will need

I would like to keep it $1200-$1500 if possible.

I think 6 speakers, no idea about zones, but I expect to have anything playing through the speakers playing the same thing, being it a football game or music for the entire dining room.

I see a number of receivers with a number of different types of inputs but not many with an HDMI input.

Honestly you could probably get my with a residential unit like a denon 7 channel they have an app and you can control it with as long as the speakers are 4ohm

If you just want background music more is better. Space then evenly and set the system to mono. Then a lower volume level will give more even coverage.

So I can set most of these home systems to mono and I don't have to worry about setting up the speakers in a specific pattern?

Search for pendant speakers on amazon and buy a 6 pack or 8 pack of the Rockville pendant speakers black or white and get the amp that goes to that system. Should put you under $1000 and leaves the rest for wiring and some sort of sound converter if you need it for your hdmi

They make hdmi Switches with sound extractors if you need it to get the sound from the TVs

Yes. Setting them to a stereo mode doesn’t help. In your setting you want every speakers playing the same information.

They aren’t being setup in a stereo format from what I can tell. They’re all to be pendant mounted correct?

I agree and was going to suggest the HDMI extractor as I have one and use with Firestick and Apple TV. One thing to consider is you want to ensure all audio sources you would want to play and that they will output how you want.

Will you play LSU games over radio? Broadcast TV? Streaming services?

Plan the work, work the plan

How bad is the echo in there with those high ceilings? Looks like ceiling has acoustic insulation so that's good. But some sound treatment panels high up on those walls might allow for lower volume, less speakers etc. and a more pleasant sound environment in general. May not be an issue, also may be out of budget just a thought.

It is painted blown spray foam, when it rains hard it sounds like there are kids on the roof beating on it with hammers. I am also looking at different options to absorb some sound.

I stream everything. Amazon prime tvs, plus a firestick attached to the ORE splitter. I expect the sound to feed from the ORE splitter when I need sound for the tvs or sound to come via an old phone for music.

So I could use something like this to convert HDMI to optical

4K Audio Extractor HDMI by OREI

and then get something like this system

Rockville 6-Zone Commercial Amp+6 Black Pendant Speakers For Restaurant/Bar/Cafe

and have everything I need but speaker wire for under $800?

Anything wrong with this plan, any better options?

The only thing I would verify that the amp could add more speakers for in case you wanted to add more. The more pendant speakers you add you could play at a lower volume and have a better experience.

Also would you want any outdoor speakers at the entrance or a patio?

In that case a simple impedance matching speaker selector ftw.
