That link was money. I contacted them late Sunday evening, someone from the office of the president of AT&T called and left a message for me yesterday morning. This morning, I had my wife call her back on my phone and the phone was unlocked almost immediately (we waited 20 minutes before checking). Thanks for the resolution.

Glad to hear it all worked out, and happy to help. Seriously, I wouldn't want anyone to have to go through this bureaucratic bullshite.
Funny thing is, I know a few people who either work for AT&T or worked for them at some point in the past, and none of them had any idea this avenue existed. I got the link from someone on the Ars Technica message board.
