There is so much wrong here on both sides. First, this is definitely a feature and Apple should have treated it as such. Since no Android fan boys are here claiming Apple stole it, I’m assuming you can’t do this on Android? Choosing performance throttling to use a battery longer definitely feels like an Android kind of feature. Is this really not a thing on Android?

It definitely is an option, but it's the users choice, not forced upon them.

Lolwut? Crippling a perfectly good phone for no reason and not telling anyone vs a feature to conserve battery that every phone for the last 10 years has are the same in your mind?

I'm sure it would be a real pity for Apple if that 45yo clueless soccer mom thought her phone was just old and threw away a $700 iPhone 6s+ and bought an $800 iPhone 8 instead.

Yeah that is a completely unintended consequence to Apple's actions here.

You know what's an option on Android phones? An easily replaced battery. It gets low, just pop that bad boy out and put a charged one in.
